New Technology Aids Remote Service Engineering

With geographical coverage now available with 3G/GSM/GPRS networks, Omniflex have introduced a whole new range of products to utilize this modern technology, providing the ability to monitor all types of data from virtually any location. This data can be sent to the people who need it, when they need it via SMS, email or Fax.
These systems are now widely being implemented for REMOTE SERVICE ENGINEERS who are home based and need to provide a response to alarms, sometimes 24 hours a day.

This technology is providing companies with unparalleled customer service, costs savings and extensions to the life of their equipment and providing preventative maintenance so that potential faults are acted upon before they become catastrophic.

The Omniflex solution is based around the D2D (Data To Desktop) product range. The solution consists of the supply of a suitable data gathering device available from the Omniflex M2 or Maxiflex I/O system range, which provides GSM/GPRS DAPs (Data Access Points) and connects to all the plant devices, machinery or remote assets etc that require monitoring.
The data is then collected, stored and sent to the D2D datacentre where the information can be monitored remotely via any password protected web browser, enabling the data to be monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Any out of limit alarms etc can be configured to notify remote Service Engineers mobile numbers via SMS or via email so that the responsible service engineer can react immediately to any alarms, providing exceptional service to their customers and to ensure that no major damage occurs to the company’s asset.
