Obsolete Robinson Alarm Upgrade Requires No Re-Wiring

In order to maintain safety standards it has become necessary to upgrade old alarm systems with new alarm systems that comply with today’s latest safety specifications.

Omniflex have successfully designed, supplied and commissioned a custom packaged Omni16C remote alarm logic unit to directly replace the obsolete Robinson alarm units, without the need to change any existing cabling or updating of existing documentation. The design allows upgrades of the Robinson alarm units to be completed at minimal cost, in the shortest time possible and with the least risk to plant operations.

Using Omniflex’s industry proven Omni16C SIL1 Annunciator system, Omniflex have repackaged the mechanical steelwork arrangement to match the existing space envelope of the Robinson system including the mechanical fixings. Omniflex also engineered the field terminal block arrangements to be exactly the same, “wire for wire” as the existing Robinson system, eliminating the need to change a single plant cable.

Omniflex engineers, with over 30 years experience in alarm systems, are pleased offer a free site survey to all customers who are concerned about alarm obsolescence and have the need to upgrade legacy alarm systems.
