Telemetry systems that are voltage compatible!

Have you ever had the problem with Telemetry applications where your field instrumentation is 24Vdc but the Radio equipment runs off 12 volts?
We have encountered this on numerous occasions so we decided we would do something about it.

We have now launched the PT L50C-D, this is a new combined power supply dual charger 110/220/240Vac to 24V dc and 12Vdc.
The PT L50C-D combined power supply and dual voltage battery charger 110/220/240ac; 24Vdc at 2A and 12V at 1A is designed specifically for those applications where you need to maintain both 12V and 24V systems.
The AC Mains input is unversal catering for 85 to 264Vac.
The PT L50C-D charges two 12V batteries (sealed lead acid) and provides a 24V Load connection and a 12V Load connection.
With a total maximum continuous power output of 55W the loads are limited to 24Vdc at 2A and 12Vdc at 1A.
Both load outputs can deliver 5A peak current (from the battery).
It is common knowledge that the better the charger the longer the life of the batteries.
Temperature is one of the parameters that are often ignored by maintained battery charging systems.
The batteries will be damaged even at trickle charge at high ambient temperatures.
All Omniflex chargers have temperature compensated battery charging circuits, as ambient temperatures go up the charger will back off to protect the battery.
The PT L50C-D includes under voltage protection which cuts out the battery to prevent a deep discharge situation in the event of prolonged main failure.
An AC detect contact output is available which can be wired into the telemetry system as an alarm.
The unit has a small footprint so it is an easy retrofit and saves you panel space on new applications.
It is 60mm Wide 110mm high and takes up 120mm from the DIN rail to the terminals on the front.
Batteries are not included and are chosen to suit the application, we recommend a minimum 7Ah upwards battery.
The datasheet can be downloaded from the Omniflex website or you can contact the sales office for more information.
